\"To kill a mockingbird for the next generation\"

Reclusive author Harper Lee is celebrating her 88th birthday in the electronic age by releasing the rights for “To Kill a Mockingbird” as an ebook and digital audiobook. The release will coincide with the books 54th anniversary from it\’s first publication and will be a welcome addition to the electronic library.

The Pulitzer prize winning novel will be launched on the 8th of July and a version narrated by Sissy Spacek and an enhanced ebook will be made available.
The author who is renowned for protecting her privacy and has refused to be interviewed for 45 years, took a rare moment to comment on the occasion. “I am amazed and humbled that Mockingbird has survived this long. I\’m still old fashioned. I love dusty old books and libraries.” She went on to say she viewed this step giving “Mockingbird for a new generation.”

Publisher Harper Collins stated that the world reknowned book has sold 30 million copies since it was published in 1960 and still sells around 1 million copies a year.
