“I can\’t wait to get over there. I always love my time in Ireland, which is a place of great golf courses and brilliant fans.” he said of the event. He will also get the chance to play against two of our own with both Rory McIIroy and Graeme McDowell having confirmed for the tournament. Also playing will be Paul McGinley, Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington, Michael Hoey, Peter Lawrie and Damien McGrane.

Daly won the PGA Championship in 1991 and the Open at St Andrew\’s in Scotland. In 2006 he placed 193rd on the PGA Tour money list resulting in him losing his non-exempt status but came second in the Italian Open and 18th at the PGA Championship in 2012.
