Northern Ireland Ambulance Service is proud to announce that the new purpose built Ambulance Station and Divisional Headquarters in Ballymena is now operational.

The new Station is built on an 0.79-hectare site to serve the population of Ballymena and surrounding areas. It replaces the old ambulance station at the Braid Valley hospital and will house 45 staff, 5 Emergency Ambulances, RRV and 3 PCS vehicles

This is the first major estate project for NIAS and in total is valued at over £5m.

The location has been selected to avail of the road network for response to emergency calls and places NIAS at the heart of the community it serves. It is a signature civic building and has been designed to provide a functional yet calming environment for staff and visitors. The separation of the garage from the accommodation block allows for a tranquil inner landscaped courtyard.

The North Area management team would like to thank all the staff for their continued commitment, hard work and hope they enjoy their new place of work.
