National Children\'s Hospital Time-Lapse

Hospital

The new children’s hospital is currently under construction by BAM Ireland on the campus of St James’ Hospital in Dublin.

The new hospital will be seven storeys high. Including the underground car park with 1,000 spaces, there are about 160,000 m2 of accommodation with 6,150 rooms. There are 380 individual inpatient rooms each with en-suite facilities and a bed for a parent or carer to sleep on.

There are also 20 child and adolescent mental health beds for patients with eating disorders and acute mental health problems, 93 daybeds and 22 operating theatres, some with specialised facilities and a hospital school.

As the main contractor of the development, BAM Ireland opted to use Evercam as an innovative tool for project management, marketing and dispute avoidance all through the use of construction cameras. Their partnership aims to provide the best service throughout the development by providing a visual audit for the whole duration of the project.
